QUALITY MATERIALS - FLOOR TO CEILING
Built in the heart of Amish Country in Nappanee, Indiana, our workers are true craftsmen committed to making good on our promise to deliver quality. Every time. From top to bottom, we source only the highest quality materials for the job. Unlike some of our competitors, our 5/8” thick floor decking is both glued and screwed to sturdy 2x3 floor joists before being fully insulated and bolted directly to the steel frame. This unique assembly forms an integral unit that maximizes strength and creates one of the strongest floor systems in the industry.
SUPERIOR SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION
Before you head out to face the elements, you can rest assured that our laminatted wall products have undergone a rigorous five-step laminating process to ensure an air tight and water-resistant bond that’s far superior to other lamination processes. In order to increase torsional strength and minimize unnecessary weight, laminated wall travel trailers and fifth wheels incorporate a welded and highly insulated aluminum frame. Using a high-density block foam, we hand cut our insulation and glue it into place between the aluminum wall studs. Unlike a blanket, this type of insulation offers higher R-values that won’t creep down.
In our traditional walled units, sturdy wood framing is used to reduce heat and cold transfer in extreme climates. The wall cavities are filled with hand-cut fiberglass insulation that is glued into place to prevent creeping down and creating "cold pockets". To increase the unit's overall integrity, steel bands securely connect the walls to the floor and additional bands connect the walls to the roof, forrming a unit-body type construction. The sidewalls also contain a dado belt rail which increases the walls' vertical integrity.
THE INDUSTRY’S PREMIERE SLIDE ROOM
Here at Gulf Stream, we’ve revolutionized the industry with pioneering slide room system construction techniques. To begin with, a one-piece steel header anchors our slide room, providing unmatched strength and support while helping to ensure a tight seal. In order to eliminate the warping affect you find in many of our competitors, we also install micro-laminated wood headers in all of our slide-room openings. And finally, to create our signature Clear Span slide room, we use a 4 1/2" steel support beam in all of our "Super-Slide" models. The difference is HUGE. You‘ll see.
SUPER EFFICIENT ROOF DESIGN
In order to provide you with added peace of mind, our seamless and crowned one-piece rubber roofs are designed to improve drainage and maximize strength. If that’s not enough for you, they also come with a 12-year warranty. Incorporating 5" bowed roof trusses, 4.5” solid wood bow rafters, 3/8” decking and a thick blanket of fiberglass insulation, you and your family can be rest assured that you’re protected from the harshest elements. Unwanted moisture escapes through our standard "Easy Escape" attic vents that extend the live of your coach. If you choose our optional central air conditioner, you’ll experience maximum air flow and comfort thanks to specially designed 1/4" insulated foam ductwork and radius joints. And finally, in order to improve strength and durability, we’ve install backers wherever interior equipment will be screwed in from below. Given everything you put into it, it’s nice to know what you have over it.
